FIRST TURKISH-JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL PARTNERSHIP EXHIBITION OPENS



BURSA (A.A) - 16.09.2010 - The first Turkish-Japanese industrial partnership exhibition has opened in the Turkish province of Bursa on Thursday.
The exhibition titled "The First Industrial Cooperation between Turkey and Japan in Bursa: Gokcen Family and Count Otani" was inaugurated at the Bursa City Museum on the sidelines of the "2010: Year of Japan in Turkey" project. 
"Almost 150 activities are taking place in various cities of Turkey throughout the year to mark the Year of Japan in Turkey," Bursa's Governor Sahabettin Harput said during the inauguration ceremony.
Japanese Consul General in Istanbul Katsuyoshi Hayashi said the "Year of Japan in Turkey" would contribute to rapprochement of Turkish and Japanese people.
In this exhibition, machines and documents used in the weaving mill and the paint factory, which were established by Mr. Memduh, head of the Gokcen family, and Count Kouzui Otani and the personal belongings of these two leaders are on display. Also pictures of the first relations of Japan and Turkey are also exhibited on the boards.
2003 was celebrated as the Year of Turkey in Japan.
