First blast freezing workshop for fruits and vegetables to be opened in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, May 11, 2022 . /Kabar/. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) and Kyrgyzcentrprodukt LLC signed an agreement to finance the opening of a blast-frozen fruit and vegetable shop. Kyrgyztcentrprodukt LLC is engaged in purchase, processing and export of agricultural products to trading networks and canneries in more than 10 countries, the RKDF reported. According to the new project, blast-frozen fruit and vegetable shop using IQF technology (this is the first project in the Kyrgyz Republic using this technology) will be built on the basis of the logistics center. "The capacity of the workshop will be 1,800 tons of fruits and berries and 3,600 tons of vegetables per year. 60% of the production will be exported to Russia and Kazakhstan, and the total export volume will reach KGS 1 billion," Chairman of the RKDF Artem Novikov said at the ceremony of signing of the contract. He added that new jobs will be created thanks to the project, up to 500 farmers will be involved in supplying agricultural products, and thus a fruit, berry, and vegetable cluster will be created. The head of the RKDF noted that the Fund is working hard to implement the objectives set by the leadership of the republic for the development of agriculture and the economy as a whole. "Cluster development and increase of export potential - these are the areas in which we have already supported a number of projects. We are ready to continue to provide the processing industry with all necessary assistance,” Artem Novikov stressed.
