Fighting terrorism underscored

Manama, 17 Nov (BNA): The General Director of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, Brigadier Abdulrahman Saleh Al Sinan, stated on Tuesday that the police will not stop until terror activity in the Kingdom has been fully extinguished. The Brigadier said Interpol red notices for the arrest of a number of Bahraini terror suspects have been issued along with similar notices from the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council.
He stated that everyone can play an important role in the security of the nation, which is just one reason the Interior Minister have focused on reinforcing a partnership between police and all segments of the community. The Brigadier called upon the public to provide information to police that may assist in the arrest of fugitives and suspects.
The Ministry employs special technology to fight all crime, including terrorism and police are well prepared for any and all eventualities. Citizens and residents can assist in fighting crime and terrorism by following the law, obeying police officers' instructions and notifying authorities of any suspicious behaviour they observe or encounter.
The Brigadier said professional and effective police work has resulted in an overall reduction in crime, including a reduction in murder and other violent crimes. This drop has been made possible by hard work from the well-trained police, timely arrests and assistance from community members.
Because training is also a crucial element in the fight against terrorism, the Interior Ministry provides its personnel with cutting edge training and technology to defeat the latest criminal trends. Training includes scientific and technical classes to enable officers to conduct their jobs efficiently and effectively.
The Brigadier noted that the naming of March 18 as Community Partnership Day celebrates the mutual trust between policemen and the public.
