FIDIC professional certificate launched

Manama, Oct. 25 (BNA): G.C.C Commercial Arbitration Centre (GCCCAC) in cooperation with Bahrain Bar Society (BBS) has launched the advanced programme to grant engineering arbitrators professional certificate (FIDIC), within the framework of preparing legal and engineering arbitrators. BBS President Huda Al Mehza expressed thanks for those in charge of the first programme of its kind in the Kingdom, like the programme sponsor Tameen and GCCCAC Secretary-General Ahmed Najm, affirming that the programme supports the national cadres in the field of international commercial arbitration. She said that the professional certificate aims to develop legal, judicial and technical skills and identify types of engineering contracts and skills to deal with it, calling on Tamkeen to reconsider training’s procedures and conditions for the young cadres and find ways to allow the largest number of participants in the courses and programmes. Najm said that GCCCAC will launch a number of specialised professional certificates, adding that this kind of certificates add depth to the practice of specialised arbitration, due to the accumulated experiences and reference to texts, literature and scientific researches.
