Events in Bahrain not isolated from developments in region

Manama, Oct. 1 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, briefed the heads of the missions of the Security Council permanent member states accredited to Bahrain of the developments unveiled by the Kingdom’s security authorities. The Ministry of Interior on Wednesday announced the discovery of a huge cache of highly explosive materials, chemical substances and ready- to-use explosive devices. The ambassador affirmed that the seized huge quantity of weapons and explosives reflects the size of the plot being knit against the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region. He affirmed that it is a clear evidence on the involvement of many sides and their continued interference in the domestic affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and their attempts to wreck havoc on regional security to achieve expansionist targets and hold sway over the capabilities of the countries of the region. The Undersecretary added that the discovery of the huge explosive cache and a factory for manufacturing locally-made bombs in a densely populated area indicates the highly dangerous situation in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region. He explained that what is happening in Bahrain cannot be viewed in isolation of the extremely dangerous happenings taking place elsewhere in the region and their grave impact on the future and security of the peoples. "What is going on here shows that there are countries working against the region’s security and peace, with the results of their actions reflected in the mounting divide and tensions," he said, adding that they are adhering to villain acts, countering the interests of the peoples of the region and hampering them from realizing their hopes and ambitions for development and prosperity.
