EU Increases Funding For Thai Flood Relief

BANGKOK, November 11 (TNA) - The European Union (EU) on Thursday increased its contribution to flood relief for Thailand from about 1.5 million Euros to 2 million Euros now. Of the funding, about 1.5 million Euros were allocated to the Thai Red Cross Society. The remaining 500,000 Euros was said to be given to “Save The Children UK” to provide further assistance to around 7,000 migrant workers who were stranded at inundated factories and industrial estates. The European contribution was made available through the EU’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department. (TNA)
