Equal opportunity unit set up

Manama, Nov.10 (BNA): A unit promoting equal opportunities has been established at the Cabinet General Secretariat. Cabinet Secretary-General Dr. Yasser bin Isa Al-Nasser issued an edict setting up the panel in line with the efforts of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) to promote gender equality at work places. SCW Secretary-General Hala Al-Ansari hailed the step which would bolster efforts to integrate women's needs in the programmes and projects lined up by ministries and government departments. "The integration of women's needs in the Government Action Plan is directly followed-up by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of HM the King, SCW President and head of the National Strategy for the Advancement of Bahraini women, ", she said. She paid tribute to Dr. Al-Nasser for establishing the equal opportunity unit in line with the SCW-led efforts to empower Bahraini women and enhance their status.
