Environment Minister Opens Qatar Third International Agricultural Exhibition

Doha, March 13 (QNA) - HE Minister of Environment Abdullah bin Mubarak bin Aabboud Al-Moudadi opened today Qatar third International Agricultural Exhibition was opened on Tuesday at Qatar International Exhibition Centre. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of ministers of agriculture from friendly countries, experts and specialists in various fields of agriculture and a number of officials of the Ministry of Environment. The three-day exhibition is organized by "Sicily" company for exhibitions with official sponsorship of Ministry of Environment with concerned local and Arab Major companies and international and regional institutions participating in the exhibition. Following opening ceremony, HE the Minister of the Environment toured with a number of guests the various pavlilions of the exhibition and listened to the explanation of the exhibitors. HE the Minister praised the good organization and the efforts made by the concerned authorities for this important international agricultural event. In a statement to reporters on the occasion, HE the Minister of Environment praised the generous patronage of HH the Heir Apparent of the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition stressing that the exhibition provides a great opportunity for farmers and investors in the agricultural field from governments, individuals and companies in order to be acquainted with the latest agricultural technologies. More than one hundred and sixty specialized companies are exhibiting their production and farming technologies. He said in this regard that organizing the exhibition for the third year reflects the government keenness on agriculture , and that it is a continuation to the great efforts of the State in the area of capacity development for both the agricultural public and private sectors in order to contribute to fulfill the Qatari market needs. He stressed that the most important characteristic of the exhibition is that it comes parallel with the comprehensive development witnessed by the State of Qatar in various fields under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. HE Abdullah bin Mubarak bin Aabboud Al-Moudadi noted that the Ministry of Environment seeks to protect the Qatari environment, and to achieve sustainable development. (QNA)
