Energy Minister receives Canadian business delegation

Manama, Nov. 5 (BNA): Energy Minister Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza received a delegation comprising CEO of major Canadian oil, gas and renewable energy firms from Alberta and Ontario districts. The minister welcomed the Canadian business delegation whose visit comes in coordination with the Canadian side, lauding the excellent role undertaken by the Canadian Consular Office in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab-Canadian Business Council, wishing the delegation's visit to succeed in achieving its desired goals and affirming strong commitment to boosting the bilateral cooperation ties, especially regarding the energy sector. The minister gave a detailed presentation to the delegation about the oil and gas sector and the sector's organisational structure which includes nine oil companies. Dr. Mirza reviewed investment opportunities and promising strategic projects which the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) seeks to implement under its strategic plan. The delegation invited NOGA to participate in the events which will be organized by oil companies in Alberta and Ontario. The minister during the meeting affirmed NOGA's keenness on providing all forms of support to Canadian firms interested in investment in the oil, gas and energy sector to benefit from the special facilitations and services provided by the Kingdom of Bahrain's government to investors and capitalists to serve the existing bilateral relations and boost the vistas of future cooperation. The delegation thanked the minister for this meeting and discussion of matters pertaining to the energy sector in Bahrain, citing projects and programmes in the energy sector which will boost the country's economy, aspiring for further cooperation with NOGA, and wishing NOGA and the Kingdom of Bahrain more development, progress and prosperity.
