Energy Minister meets Russian counterpart

Manama, Nov. 23 (BNA): Energy Minister Abdul Hussain Ali Mirza met Russia's Deputy Minister for Energy, Kirill Molodtsov, on the side-lines of participation at the sixth Asian Energy Ministers Roundtable Forum. They discussed cooperation in the field of energy in line with the directives of both political leaderships following the historic visit of HM the King to Russia in October 2014 and the visits of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister in April 2014, the minister's visits to Russia in 2010 and 2014; and, the visits by Russian Presidential Envoy cum Chairman of Gazprom Board of Directors, Viktor Zubkov, to the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as the mutual visits between officials from Gazprom, the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) and Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco). They also discussed cooperation regarding liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply from Russia to Bahrain and other potential commercial exchanges in future as well as possibility of benefiting from Russia's advanced technologies in oil and gas exploration and seismic survey to develop potential hydrocarbon resources. The two sides concurred on the importance of maintaining effective coordination in these aspects to achieve the shared interest and constructive cooperation between both countries.
