Energy and Industry Minister Opens KAHRAMAA Consolidated Communications Centre
Doha, May 13 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada has opened Sunday the consolidated communications center operated by Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), which specializes in handling inquiries and complaints from clients in a new phase towards future developments for the corporation.
Speaking at a press conference following the opening ceremony, HE Dr. Al-Sada underlined the importance of KAHRAMAA and its role in meeting the needs of all members of society by facilitating documentation and advancing services to an international level representative of Qatar and its citizens. The new service constitutes a significant development providing everyone with an easy way to submit entries all at once and to a unified body, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry noted.
The corporation's communication system had been previously divided into different departments including customer service, electricity complaints, among others, but receiving calls is now conducted by a comprehensively trained employee thanks to the new center, HE explained adding that the corporation provides all types of assistance in all fields in pursuit of optimum servicing for citizens in line with its developmental goals.
The Qatari government has given great attention to this category of services, up to international standards through using the latest technology by applying a myriad of communication means including phone and mobile device calls, correspondence, and social media, HE Dr. Al-Sada remarked explaining the variety of services presented among which are database updates, pre-outage contact, complaint and request follow-ups, and others.
A quality control department is housed under the new center, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry said adding that the opening comes four months after the experimental period, which has been proven to be effective. HE indicated that this is what KAHRAMAA seeks to evaluate its operation through client servicing in the context of its indispensable services.
HE the Minister noted that technical problems are rare in electricity and water distribution, but minor malfunctions occur every once in a while and the corporation attempts to avoid them as much as possible, explaining that according to international indicators tracking such issues and their duration KAHRAMAA's standing is much better than the levels deemed acceptable.
From his part, KAHRAMAA president HE Eng. Essa bin Hilal al-Kuwari said that the corporation aims to cultivate a new definition for communication, building bridges and links to get in touch with clients through all means possible, adding that the inauguration marks one of the developmental phases.
