Emir Of Qatar Meets House Speaker, Confirms His Country's Firm Stance And Support For Iraq's Unity, Security And Stability

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani affirmed Qatar's firm stance and supports the unity, security and stability of Iraq.
"Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani received at his office at Al-Bahr Palace this morning, Salim Abdullah al-Jubouri, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Iraq and his accompanying delegation, on the occasion of their visit to the country.
During the meeting, which was attended by Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, Chairman of the Qatari Shura Council, reviewed the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen and develop them, in addition to the latest developments in Iraq and the region.
The President of the House of Representatives conveyed greetings of President Fuad Masum and Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and their wishes for the Amir health and happiness and the Qatari people further progress and prosperity. "
The Speaker also convoyed thanks of the Iraqi leadership and people for the State of Qatar for the efforts exerted by to support Iraq at various levels, especially in the fight against terrorism, in addition to the great support that the State of Qatar has pledged to rebuild Iraq at the international conference recently hosted by Kuwait.
The Amir, Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri, extended his greetings to the President and the Prime Minister, wishing them health and well-being and to the brotherly Iraqi people progress.
The emir of Qatar stressed "the firm position of the State of Qatar and its support to the unity, security and stability of Iraq."
