Embassy in Washington marks National, Accession Days

Washington, Dec. 17 (BNA): Bahrain’s Embassy in the US has hosted a ceremony marking the glorious National Day and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s accession to the throne. The Ambassador to the USA Shaikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Khalifa welcomed scores of well-wishers, including the kingdom’s friends, entrepreneurs and senior military, diplomatic and political officials. The event focused on highlighting Bahrain’s rich heritage as pictures of the landmarks and an artistic masterpiece by Shaikha Hala Al Khalifa on the pearling industry were showcased. As Bahrain is a historical ally to the USA, the event provided an opportunity to celebrate Bahrain-US relations and their continuous cooperation to maintain regional security and stability and combat terrorism across the world. The ambassador expressed full confidence and pride in the remarkable progress and reforms made in the Kingdom, stressing that Bahrain’s main asset is its people. "On behalf of HM King Hamad, the government and the people of Bahrain, we today celebrate the progress of a country that has been established on advanced principles. We also look forward for more freedoms and opportunities for all," he said, expressing gratitude for all those who attended the reception ceremony.
