Elections executive director receives Swiss minister

Manama, Nov11(BNA)Legislation and Legal Opinion Chief, Parliamentary and Municipal Elections Executive Director Abdulla bin Hassan Al-Buainain today affirmed Bahrain's democratic march, paying tribute to the wise leadership, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, for supporting the process. "The Kingdom of Bahrain is moving forward steadily on the path of democracy", he said as he received Swiss State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Yves Rossier, currently on visit to Bahrain. He briefed the Swiss minister on Bahrain's electoral process, highlighting the laws and procedures governing the polls. "Bahrain has ensured all the legal and technical requirements for the upcoming elections to meet the highest standards of transparency and probity", he said, adding that the judiciary will supervise all the phases of the electoral process. He pointed out the decision of the High Elections Committee to engage the civil society institutions in supervising the polls so as to ensure all guarantees.
