Eid Al Fitr on Thursday in Qatar

Doha, August 07 (QNA) - The Crescent Moon Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs has announced that tomorrow, Thursday, corresponding to August 8, 2013 is the first day of Eid al-Fitr. This came in a statement issued by the Committee following its meeting this evening, at the Ministry Headquarters. The Crescent Moon Sighting Committee held a meeting on Wednesday evening, Ramadan 29, 1434 AH corresponding to August 7, 2013, to investigate the sighting of the crescent of Shawwal, and announced that tomorrow, Thursday, August 8, 2013 is the first day of Eid al-Fitr. The Committee wishes to take this opportunity to extend sincere greetings to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the wise government, the Qatari people and all Muslims on the advent of the blessed Eid Al Fitr.(QNA)
