Egyptian Prime Minister Expresses His Country's Readiness to Cooperate with Iraq And Benefit From Its Oil

BAGHDAD / NINA / Egyptian Prime Minister Sharif Ismail expressed Egypt's readiness to cooperate with Iraq politically, economically, and militarily and also confirmed the importance of increasing the volume of trade, investment, and take advantage of Iraq's oil exports, especially with the desire of the Egyptian companies to work in Iraq. A statement by the Foreign Ministry said today, "Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari met, on the sidelines of his visit to Cairo, Egyptian Prime Minister Ismail Sharif, who stressed the need for concerted political efforts between Baghdad and Cairo to help lay the foundations of stability in the region. Egyptian Prime Minister also stressed during the meeting, "the importance of exchange visits between officials of the two countries, and the exchange of expertise and experience in all fields. For his part, Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari called on the Egyptian side to the need to ease the procedures, and facilitate granting visas for Iraqis wishing to visit Egypt as tourists, businessmen, and students; because of its significant impact on the strengthening of relations between the two countries. " Jaafari, during the meeting, called the Egyptian prime minister to visit Iraq in the framework of strengthening relations and discuss cooperation in all fields, praising Egypt's stances in supporting Iraq in its war against terrorism, and its support in the Arab and international arenas. " He noted that, "the Iraqi security forces in all its different forms are besieging Mosul from all axes, and cut off supplies to terrorists of Daesh, and progressing thoughtfully, taking into account save the lives of the citizens of the people of Mosul." He stressed that "the victory of Iraq represents a victory for all the peoples of the region, and the world, especially as it faces a war against Daesh gangs in His own defense, and on behalf of the whole world." During the meeting, they reviewed relations between Baghdad and Cairo, and ways to open more prospects of joint cooperation between the two countries. It is mentioned that Jaafari, during his visit to Cairo, had met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi yesterday. / End
