Education Minister meets French officials

Paris, Sept. 13 (BNA): Higher Education Council (HEC)'s Chairman, Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, met French Education Agency's CEO Beatrice Khaiat accompanied by several officials from the French agency. The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation in higher education field, including the hosting of academic programmes in Bahrain from French universities. The French side presented offers from French universities and advanced academic programmes and services offered by the French agency on international cooperation in the field of education. The minister presented a briefing on the Kingdom's efforts in developing higher education and academic research through the launching of the Higher Education Strategy and the Academic Research Strategy. HEC's secretary-general Dr. Riyadh Hamza Yousef, Bahrain's UNESCO-based deputy permanent representative and advisor in the Cultural Attaché Office in the Kingdom's Embassy in France, Wafa Al Khalifa; and, French Cultural advisor in the French Embassy in Bahrain, Dominique Schuster attended the meeting.
