Education minister discusses cooperation with British HEA

Manama, Sept. 11 (BNA): Education Minister and Chairman of the High Education Council (HEC) Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi has met the British High Education Academy (HEA)’s International Development Manager Doug Pearce, and Services Director Olivia Fleming. The meeting touched upon the results of the National Skills and Employment Forum, in which all higher education institutions participated and determined the main standards and skills that should be focused on in higher education curricula to enhance the capabilities of the graduates and meet the requirements of the labour market. The two sides also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the coming period, especially regarding efforts to attract advanced academic programmes to Bahrain, as part of the HEC’s plans to upgrade academic education and programmes. HEC Secretary-General Dr. Riyadh Hamza and the Advisor at the Cultural Office of the Bahrain Embassy in London Sabah Al-Zayani were also present.
