Education Council to Activate Cultural Missions in Washington, Cairo
Doha, May 25 (QNA) - The Supreme Education Council (SEC) has decided to reopen the cultural missions in Washington and Cairo in a bid to enhance their role in countries with Qatari students.
SEC said the step aims to serve students, increase academic and administrative support for them, and enhance the important role of cultural missions in countries where Qatari students receive education.
The SEC's decision broadens the role of cultural attaches beyond academic follow-up on students to include the coordination to forge agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with universities and educational institutions, representing Qatar in related events, and endorsing certificates and scientific documents from academic institutions in countries they are based in.
According to the decision, steps are underway with Qatar's embassies in the United States and Egypt so that the cultural missions there would start working to serve Qatari students. (QNA)
