EDB finances EAEU infrastructure projects for USD 2 bln

Bishkek, May 26, 2022. / Kabar /. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) finances EAEU infrastructure projects for USD 2 billion. This was announced during the Eurasian Economic Forum in Bishkek. Deputy Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank Amangeldy Isenov at the meeting of the panel session "Transport complex - the framework of the Eurasian economic integration" during the First Eurasian Economic Forum said that the bank had financed 42 infrastructure projects worth more than USD 2 billion. “We are well aware that the creation of infrastructure is a locomotive industry that has a large multiplier effect. Without the creation of such a base, certain types of development cannot be implemented. We are involved in the development of roads. In the future, we want to focus on infrastructure investments through project financing and public-private partnerships,” said the deputy chairman of the bank. Amangeldy Isenov added that the bank is implementing new approaches - the implementation of "end-to-end, seamless projects", such as a single commodity-conducting network. “The creation of such an infrastructure will allow optimizing logistics chains, transshipment bases and other parts of the network,” Isenov added. The representative of the Eurasian Development Bank emphasized that the bank itself is interested in the successful implementation of projects, and therefore helps in the implementation of projects.
