Baghdad / NINA / -The advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for International Affairs in Iran, Ali Akbar Velayati, said: "The upcoming elections are fateful for Iraq and we reject foreign interference in its internal affairs." The Iranian Tasnim news agency reported that Velayati received in Tehran the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, and stressed the need for foreign countries not to interfere in the internal affairs of Iraq, noting that the Iraqi people and the Iraqi government have a direct role in determining their fate, because the Iraqi people enjoy a deep-rooted culture, and our relations with Iraq are broad, deep and fraternal relations.
