Doha to Host 21st Conference of Gas Processors Association GCC Chapter on May 07

Doha, May 01 (QNA) -The annual symposium of the Gas Processors Association (GPA) GCC Chapter is due to kick off in Doha on 7 and 8 May. The event, to be held under the auspices of Oryx GTL Company Limited, will bring together many companies operating in the oil and gas sector in the Cooperation Council for the Arab states of the Gulf (GCC) member states. The participants are to discuss a host of topics including the development of the gas industry in the GCC member states and the obstacles impeding it along with the gas projects set up in the GCC members, namely Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman , Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is worth to mention that in November 1992, representatives from nine major oil companies in the Gulf Co-operation Council met in Bahrain to promote the formation of the Gulf Chapter of the Gas Processors Association. This meeting, which was hosted by the Bahrain National Gas Company (BANAGAS), was also attended by three senior representatives of the GPA and GPA - European Chapter. The formation of a GCC Chapter of the GPA to be based in Bahrain was agreed in the meeting and a steering committee was formed to work on the By-Laws of the Chapter and to arrange for an organisation meeting in April 1993. In the April organisation meeting, the GPA - GCC Chapter was formally declared, the By-Laws were approved and the members of the first Executive Committee consisting of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary-Treasurer and four other members were selected. On the 13th October 1993 the Executive Committee met in Bahrain and agreed to extend the Chapter's membership to suppliers. The Gas Processors Association - GCC, was established in 1993 and is working as a forum to exchange concepts , technologies and data in gas industry in light of its objectives and efforts to help protecting the environment. It is moving to line up its strategies with its customer’s needs & visions and providing best industrial practices & services for the region.(QNA)
