Doha Golf Club Announces Support of CHI AL SHAQAB

Doha, March 21 (QNA) - Al Shaqab and Doha Golf Club have announced their co-operation in the upcoming CHI AL SHAQAB 2013, which will take place between 27 30 March . CHI AL SHAQAB, the first such equestrian competition in the region, will take place over a four-day period and boast a comprehensive programme of world-class showjumping, dressage and endurance events. The agreement stipulates that Doha Golf Club, an 18-hole Championship Course and a 9-hole Academy Course alongside rolling lawns, eight artificial lakes, and a traditional Arabic -style clubhouse, will provide golf carts to be used throughout the event, which will be made available to both riders and visitors. Fahad Bin Saad Al Qahtani, Al Shaqab Director & CHI AL SHAQAB President, said, "Doha Golf Club is synonymous with excellence. It has a long history of hosting world-class sporting events that regularly draw thousands of spectators from around the globe." Held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Thani and HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa Bint Hamad Al Thani, CHI AL SHAQAB will be held at Al Shaqab s state-of-the-art facilities at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. Around 170 riders from more than 25 nations, as well as 200 horses, are expected to attend. The prestigious event will be open to all members of the community. A dedicated 17,000 square meter spectator plaza will host an array of family-orientated tents designed to entice and delight visitors of all ages.
