Doha Document's Following Up Committee Meets Monday

Doha, May 27 (QNA) - The third meeting of the High Follow-Up Committee for Peace in Darfur (HFCPD) will take place on Monday in Doha at the Ritz Carlton. The meeting will be chaired by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud. The meeting will discuss what has been achieved so far with regards to the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur and the implementation of its executive mechanism. A number of Sudanese and international officials will participate in the meeting, including Head of the Darfur Regional Authority Al-Tijan Al-Sisi, who is also the Chief of the Liberation and Justice Movement and UNAMID Chief Mediator Ibrahim Gambari. Representative from permanent member states of the United Nations Security Council along with those from the United Nations, the Arab League, the African Union, the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation and the European Union will be present. Representatives for Canada, Japan, Chad and Burkina Faso will also be present. The following-up committee was formed in implementation of resolutions of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur. (QNA)
