Diplomatic Institute to Hold Trainees Passing out Ceremony

Doha, August 05 (QNA) - The Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold tomorrow night the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Institute's 26 male and female trainees. The ceremony will take place under the auspices and presence of HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah. The ceremony will feature a speech by HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and a presentation on the training programme to be provided by the Director of the Institute of HE Dr. Hassan bin Ibrahim Al-Mohannadi, and the trainee's speech to be given by Fahad Rashid Al-Meraikhi. It will conclude with the graduates honouring ceremony. The Diplomatic Institute has taken into account in the preparation of the training programme, which began last January, the provision of the trainees with the knowledge and expertise needed by the contemporary diplomat in accordance with the latest methods adopted in the diplomatic career institutes and centres. For the purpose, 19 programmes were selected in the fields of diplomacy, international relations, international cooperation and consular work , in addition to the media, art of negotiation and foreign languages ??needed by the diplomatic staff. Two courses off English and French were held in collaboration with the British Council and French Cultural Centre. The Institute has also sent trainees to Turkey, where a special programme on the Turkish diplomacy was organized in cooperation with the Turkish Foreign Ministry, as well as visits to some cultural centres in the cities of Istanbul and Ankara.(QNA)
