Deputy Premier receives GFBTU secretary-general

Manama, May 12 (BNA): Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Secretary-General of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions (GFBTU) Salman Al-Mahfoudh. The deputy premier was briefed by GFBTU secretary-general on various issues related to workers' affairs, and improving the living standards of the Bahraini workforce. The existing cooperation between the government and trade unions in order to resolve pending labour issues was also reviewed. Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak reiterated the government's keenness to achieve the interests of workers and serve them, affirming that the government will carry on cooperating with trade unions in order to meet workers' needs and resolve labour issues.
