Deputy Premier receives CPPCC's Chairman

Manama, Nov. 6. (BNA) -- Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa has affirmed the government's interest in promoting relations with China and following-up on the implementation of the memoranda and agreements signed on the sidelines of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's historic visit to China. This came as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Yu Zhengsheng and the accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to Bahrain. Chairman of the Shura Council Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh and a number of Chinese officials were also present. Shaikh Mohammed said bilateral diplomatic relations have witnessed significant improvement in the economic, cultural and financial fields, highlighting that the exchange of visits promotes mutual understanding on various issues of common interest, stressing the private sector's role in consolidating these ties. They reviewed the latest developments in the regional and international arenas. Yu Zhengsheng expressed sincere thanks to Shaikh Mohammed for constant interest in further advancing bilateral relations, adding that the visit represents an opportunity for the two countries to build a strategic partnership.
