Deputy Premier opens modern home exhibition

Manama, Jan. 7 (BNA): Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has affirmed that the government's forward-looking vision to diversify income revenues is partly based on encouraging the private sector to hold exhibitions that directly yield positive results on the kingdom's gross domestic product (GDP).
Opening today the Bahrain International Modern Home Exhibition, organised by First Target Establishment at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, in the presence of MPs, senior officials and guests, the deputy premier asserted that some countries have become linked with specialised exhibitions that host them regularly.
The kingdom is embarking on a new phase of more administrative organisation and strategic planning regarding the hosting of exhibitions, noting that Bahrain Authority for Tourism and Exhibition (BATE), on whose organisation Royal Decree 76/2016 was issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa recently and whose Board of Directors, representing all sides related to travel and tourism, will be endorsed by the cabinet soon, will regulate the commercial conferences and exhibitions and attract local, regional and international conferences and exhibitions.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla added that the idea of building the Exhibitions City near the Bahrain International Circuit at Sakhir, still represents a priority in the coming period, given its importance in boosting and supporting the exhibitions industry, noting that the relevant government sides are still studying the project, as well as its funding and operational mechanisms.
The deputy premier then cut the ribbons and officially opened the second Bahrain International Modern Home Exhibition, and lauded the advanced level of this year's edition, as well as the efforts of First Target Establishment in organising the event in a way that reflects the kingdom's high reputation as a hub of exhibitions.
The second edition of the Bahrain International Modern Home Exhibition takes place on a total space of 4,500 square metres with the participation of 77 exhibiters displaying a wide range of household products from around the globe. It provides all the requirements of modern house with economical and convenient ways, display the latest designs interiors & exteriors decorations& furnishing all under one roof.
CEO of First Target Establishment, Yousef Dawood, expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the deputy premier for patronising the event, stressing that his patronage and support will motivate "First Target" to organise more specialised exhibitions and attract exhibitors from all over the world.
