Deputy Premier meets Northern Municipal Council chairman

Manama, July 8 (BNA): Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa today received at Gudaibiya Palace Northern Municipal Council Chairman Mohammed Buhamoud who outlined the achievements during the first session of the fourth municipal term. The Deputy Premier stressed the keenness of the executive agencies on following-up the recommendations of municipal councils, being also partners in achieving goals and overcoming difficulties. He stressed the pivotal role of municipal councils which represent one of the key pillars of the reform project led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. He pointed out the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to support municipal councils, as they represent a cornerstone of Bahrain's democratic march. He commended the crucial contribution of municipal councils in promoting the standard of services and supporting sustainable development efforts. He underlined the big challenge facing the Northern Municipal Council to meet the needs of towns and villages.
