Customs announces 62 confiscation operations

Manama, July 2BNA): Customs President, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa today announced the Customs Affairs has been issuing daily statistics on confiscations of the Air Exist Customs Directorate (GLS), in which in a week 62 confiscations were reported including duplicated, banned or unlicensed medicines and more than 2000 pills and 1200 grams of powders. He said that the confiscations were part of an international week to fight the selling of duplicated and illegal medicines through the internet to enhance awareness of their risks on patients and consumers as well as track down illegal website selling those medicines in order to enable the Interpol to close them. The week’s activities were carried out by the police and customs authorities and national medicine regulatory agencies in member countries of the World Customs Organisation.
