Culture Minister Names Members of Local Theatre Festival Higher Committee

Doha, January 16 (QNA) - HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari has issued a decision naming the members of the Higher Committee of the local theater Festival and the formation of its sub-committees, to be chaired by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, HE Mubarak Bin Nasser Al Khalifa and the membership of the director of culture and arts at the ministry and director of the local theater festival, Faleh Al Ajlan Al Hajri, the director of research and cultural studies at the ministry, Dr. Marzook Bashir Marzouk, Dr. Hassan Abdullah Al Rashid, Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Al Emadi and Mr. Hamad Abdullah Ashkanani. The Ministerial decision No. 16 of 2012 also included directives to form several committees including intellectual and practical seminars, financial and secretarial, theatrical performances and associated activities, public relations and reception, and media and publishing, those shall be formed by the Head of the Higher Committee of the Festival. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Mubarak Bin Nasser Al Khalifa said that the Committee shall prepare and oversee the events and cultural activities organized by the ministry during the Festival, noting that the last day of the festival will be on March 27, coinciding with the celebration of the world Theatre day which falls on March 27 of each year. He also stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage to promote theatrical movement in Qatar and creating a partnership between them and the international theatre movement, noting in this regard the "wise" decision, by HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, to join to the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and opening an office for it in Qatar chaired by Mr. Mousa Zainal.(QNA)
