Culture Minister Approves List of Young Leaders to Be Honored

Doha, August 01 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari has approved a list of young leaders and distinguished youth to be honored. This came during HE the Minister's meeting with leaders of youth work at summer tent at Aspire Zone on Tuesday evening. The meeting meant to listen to the leaders' views, identify ways in which the progress and development of work and programs in youth centers, clubs and organizations can be attained. The list aims to encourage young people of all denominations, uphold what has been achieved and pursue more excellence and innovation to promote the level of youth work, and encourage the various government bodies to spare more efforts to develop youth work. The list includes honoring the unknown soldiers in the field of youth work, in addition to introducing the public opinion to all those who contributed faithfully to the success of youth work. The awards will be given to the best Chairman of the Board of Directors, the best member of the Board of Directors, best director, as well as creative and distinguished young people, leaders of youth from both sexes, activities moderators, and the best cultural committee president in sports clubs, in addition to other groups (deaf, dumb, blind and physically disabled persons). During the meeting, His Excellency said that on August 12 of each year, which falls on World Youth Day, young leaders will be honored. Dr. Al Kuwari welcomed at the beginning of the meeting attendees, stressing that the meeting's main objective was to listen to all opinions and ideas and proposals that take place in the minds of young people in order to be developed further. He stressed the government's keenness to promote the youth sector, and said that the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH the Heir Apparent are to provide full support for young people, adding that the State has provided all the possibilities that enable young people to be one of the effective and active segment in the community.
