Crown Prince receives US Ambassador

Manama, Mar. 17. (BNA) -- His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met the Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom of Bahrain, William Roebuck, at Gudaibiya Palace. His Royal Highness praised the longstanding ties between Bahrain and the United States, highlighting that cooperation between the two countries continues to grow across a wide range of areas, including economic, defence and political affairs. Speaking about Bahrain’s role in combatting all forms of extremism, His Royal Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s continued support to international efforts to provide a secure environment throughout the region, and that a key priority must be to change the way in which we look at combatting theocratic ideologies, in order to eradicate them at their source. His Royal Highness added that the US continues to play an integral role in promoting long term security and stability in the region and across the world. The US Ambassador welcomed His Royal Highness’s role in further enhancing cooperation between the two countries, and went on to note Bahrain’s role in supporting long term security and stability within the region. The Ambassador reiterated the commitment of the US to continue to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
