Crown Prince meets President of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports

Manama, Dec. 7 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met the President of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), Ingmar De Vos, at Gudaibiya Palace. During the meeting, His Royal Highness praised the award given by the FEI to His Majesty King Hamad, in recognition of His Majesty’s pioneering role and dedicated efforts to promote equestrian sport. His Royal Highness also noted that the sport is considered part of the Kingdom’s heritage. His Royal Highness welcomed the FEI’s continued efforts to promote and support equestrian sport on an international level, and its efforts to support and organise programmes, activities, tournaments and events. In this regard, His Royal Highness emphasised his hope for further cooperation between the FEI and the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF). His Royal Highness noted that the role played by BREEF in the Kingdom strengthens Bahrain’s role within the equestrian field and welcomed its organisation of events and participation in various prestigious competitions. His Royal Highness also highlighted the strong capabilities of Bahrain’s horse riders, and that Bahrain is among the countries that own the best pure bred Arabian horse stables. For his part, the President of FEI expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness, and praised the Kingdom’s efforts, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, in further developing and supporting equestrian sport. The President of FEI also noted that these efforts have resulted in a high standard of Bahraini horse riders, and contributed to their achievement in regional and international tournaments. The President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Minister of Youth & Sports Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, and the Vice President of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
