Crown Prince meets outgoing Fifth Fleet commander, welcomes new commander

Manama, Aug. 25 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met the US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, William Roebuck and the outgoing Commander of the US Fifth Fleet Vice Admiral John Miller, at the Gudaibiya Palace. His Royal Highness highlighted the longstanding ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the US. He added that both countries continue to focus on increasing cooperation across various fields, particularly within defence and security affairs. On mutual efforts to combat terrorism and violent extremism, His Royal Highness emphasised the need for continued cooperation and collaboration between the US and regional allies in order to achieve long-term regional stability and security. His Royal Highness concluded by extending thanks and best wishes to Vice Admiral Miller for his role in further enhancing bilateral relations. His Royal Highness also welcomed the new US Fifth Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Kevin Donagen, wishing him every success in his new assignment.
