Crown Prince meets Emir of Qatar and world leaders on sidelines of COP 21 climate change conference

Paris, Nov.30 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met the Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the sidelines of the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 21) in Paris, France. During the meeting, His Royal Highness extended His Majesty King Hamad’s greetings to the Emir of Qatar and His Majesty’s hopes for Qatar’s continued progress and prosperity. His Royal Highness and the Emir then highlighted the strong bilateral ties between Bahrain and Qatar. The meeting presented an opportunity to discuss various issues within the COP 21 agenda, and a number of regional and international developments, including efforts aimed at combatting extremist ideologies. His Highness the Emir of Qatar then expressed greetings to His Majesty King Hamad, and wished the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also held a series of meetings with a number of world leaders on the sidelines of the conference. During these meetings, His Royal Highness highlighted the steady growth of ties between Bahrain and its international and regional partners participating in the conference. His Royal Highness also stressed the importance of further strengthening cooperation and coordination towards addressing climate change. In this regard, His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of reaching a global agreement that will support these efforts.
