Crown Prince meets ECSSR director-general

Manama, Mar. 24. (BNA) -- His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al KHalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met Dr. Jamal Al-Suwaidi, the Director General of Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), at Gudaibiya Palace. At the start of the meeting, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince highlighted the role research centres play throughout the region in supporting long term stability and security. He emphasised that their role contributes to the fight against the spread of theocratic ideologies. His Royal Highness also noted the important role of studies that promote moderate views and highlight the negative implications extremist views have on society. His Royal Highness went on to highlight Dr. Jamal's role in publicising the ramifications of politicising religion, and praised his efforts to bring understanding to the motivations of extremist groups. His Royal Highness also highlighted the long-standing relations between Bahrain and the UAE, stressing that the two countries share a commitment to the ongoing development and stability of the region. In conclusion, the Director General of ECSSR expressed his appreciation and gratitude to His Royal Highness for his clear interest in the role the ECSSR plays in examining strategic issues. The Director General went on to highlight His Royal Highness's support to the development of research studies.
