Crown Prince highlights Alba’s role in driving forward economic growth

Manama, Dec.7 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met the Chairman of Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, at Gudaibiya Palace. During the meeting, His Royal Highness highlighted Alba’s significant role in driving forward economic growth within the Kingdom, and said that Alba’s new project "Line 6 Expansion" shows the Kingdom’s commitment to key development projects that are aimed at improving citizens’ living standards. His Royal Highness also noted that the expansion project will enable Alba to become the largest aluminium smelter in the world, and stressed that the modernisation of downstream aluminium facilities reinforces the Kingdom’s standings in the sector. Moreover, His Royal Highness expressed his appreciation to the Bahraini workforce, which is the driving force behind the continued growth across key economic sectors. In conclusion, His Royal Highness congratulated the Chairman of Alba for receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Middle East Business Leaders Awards, and praised his contributions to the overall performance of Alba. For his part, the Chairman of Alba expressed his gratitude for His Royal Highness’ continued support to Alba and its Line 6 Expansion project. The Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board, His Excellency Khalid Al Rumaihi and the Chief Executive Officer of Alba, Tim Murray, also attended the meeting.
