Crown Prince: Bahrain committed to supporting international efforts to combat terrorism and achieve lasting stability

Manama, Jan. 13 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met Vice Admiral Mark Fox, Deputy Commander of the United States Central Command, at Gudaibiya Palace. During the meeting, His Royal Highness affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain will continue to contribute to the fight against extremism and that the Kingdom is committed to supporting international cooperation in this regard. His Royal Highness went on to stress the importance of eradicating extremist ideologies and their financial resources, in order to achieve lasting stability and security within the region. His Royal Highness stressed that Bahrain is committed to upholding the principles of coexistence and openness, and that Bahrain, alongside its international partners, will resolutely combat terrorist organisations. His Royal Highness emphasised that the abhorrent attacks carried out by terrorist groups are entirely unrepresentative of Islamic principles. Additional issues of shared interest, as well as the longstanding strategic relationship between Bahrain and the United States, were also discussed during the meeting.
