Creative economy will become unique and dynamic sector: UNDP resident rep

The creative economy will become unique and dynamic sector in the future, Permanent Representative of the UNDP in Kyrgyzstan Louise Chamberlain said during the Kyrgyzstan's first creative industries festival "CREATE4KG", held on Saturday in Bishkek with the participation of President Sadyr Zhaparov. Chamberlain added that the creative economy is a dynamic sector that provides the centralized income generating opportunities and helps to develop an inclusive and social cohesion of society by placing people with the talents and skills at the centre of the development process and invites to cooperation against and across all borders and divisions. "Thanks to the digital technologies, we now have the opportunity to engage many more people in creative jobs and to enhance the export potential of goods and services produced here by local creators," the permanent representative of the UNDP said. In turn, Nazgul Kubakaeva, the Director of the Association of Creative Industries of Kyrgyzstan, pointed out that the creative economy has been identified as one of the priorities of the state policy of the republic. "The president decided to approve the Concept of development of the creative economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, to determine the classification of creative industries, and to create a creative industries park," she added. Bishkek hosted on Saturday the CREATE4KG First Festival of Creative Industries of Kyrgyzstan with the participation of President Sadyr Zhaparov. The festival is the first such large-scale platform in Kyrgyzstan, which brings together about 1 thousand participants of different ages, involved or interested in the creative industries professions. At the event, successful representatives of IT, digital professions, art and other creative industries from Kyrgyzstan, USA, Russia and Kazakhstan shared their experiences. Creative Industries Festival CREATE4KG is held within the framework of the Creativity and Innovation Week to support the development of the creative economy of the country and the entire community of creative people. The main objective of the festival is to present to a wide audience the opportunities and ways to monetize their skills and creativity in today's reality.
