CPISP meets new scholarship recipients

Manama, May 11 (BNA): Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) Director Dr. Cynthia Gessling affirmed the CPISP is one of the most successful educational programs in support of youth development, providing scholars the opportunity to study at top international universities and experience various cultures, as well as the freedom to select their desired field of study in attaining university degrees, beginning from Bachelors and continuing on to Masters and PhDs. Dr. Gessling made these remarks during a presentation organized by the Program for the ten new 2015 scholarship recipients and their parents/guardians at the Court of the Crown Prince. The students were briefed on the Program’s internal policies and procedures, and the academic requirements and expectations of CPISP scholars during their university studies abroad. The CPISP Director affirmed HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s vision of developing the talents and capabilities of Bahrain’s youth through his support of educational and training programs. She went on to congratulate the new group of recipients, who include public and private school students, and wished them success on their studies abroad. The 2015 group of scholars includes Mustafa Hammad, Ebtihal Jasim, Abdulla Husain, Zahra Marhoon, Yusuf Ismaeel, and Bayan Alsairafi who will be going to preparatory schools in the USA to attain American High School Diplomas before applying for university. The scholars also include Yusuf Jailani going to Harvard University, USA; Fatima Abdulla going to Kings College London, UK; Bassam Al Alawi going to Princeton University, USA; and Dana Tarif going to Exeter University, UK.
