Coup d'etat proponent's trial adjourned

Manama, Dec. 15 (BNA): The Public Prosecutor Ahmed Al-Quorashi today announced that the trial of an individual charged with inciting hatred and promoting political change using forceful means resumed at the Higher Criminal Court today. During the session, the Court heard testimony from defence witnesses in the presence of the defendant and his legal team. The Court also heard from the Public Prosecution, who requested the defendant be convicted of all charges in light of the prosecution evidence presented to Court. Al-Quorashi stated that the Higher Criminal Court set the next trial hearing to 10 January 2016 and that the defendant would be further remanded in custody. Al-Quorashi also confirmed that the defendant continues to be afforded full legal rights and provided with the opportunity to meet his legal team throughout.
