Constitutional Court president receives Palestinian delegation

Manama, Nov. 18 (BNA): President of the Constitutional Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid Al Khalifa received here today a Palestinian judicial delegation, led by the Secretary-General of the Palestinian High Judicial Council Judge Dr. Nassar Mansoor. Constitutional Court member Judge Isa bin Mubarak Al-Ka'abi and the Supreme Judicial Council's Judge Ali bin Ahmed Al-ka'abi were also present. The Constitutional Court President welcomed the delegation, and expressed the court's readiness to enhance cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the judicial and legislative fields. He highlighted the terms of reference of the Constitutional Court regarding the exercise of both precedent and succeeding review of the constitutionality of laws and regulations. He stressed that the guarantors ensured by the 2002 Constitution strengthened the rule of the law and protection of rights and freedoms within the Reform Project spearheaded by His majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The delegation then toured the Constitutional Court and were informed by the Director of Media and International Relations Shaikh Khalid bin Isa Al Khalifa and Director of Legal Affairs and Registration Mohammed Abdulla Al-Kuwari about the court's facilities and procedures. Members of the Palestinian delegation expressed admiration of the Constitutional Court's judicial procedures, as well as the advanced world-standard constitutional guarantors provided.
