Comprehensive traffic plan in place for Eid Al Adha holiday: GDT

Manama, Sept. 22 (BNA): General Director of Traffic, Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, announced on Tuesday that the department have taken all measures for Eid Al Adha holiday through a comprehensive traffic plan to regulate traffic on all roads to deal with huge number of vehicles expected to enter Bahrain through King Fahad Causeway. He said that traffic police will be deployed at open grounds and mosques that will perform Eid prayer, busy roads and highways, parks, commercial malls and King Fahad Causeway throughout the holiday. About traffic services, he said that the work will continue as usual to deal with traffic violations and accidents through traffic accidents offices at all governorates from 7:00 am to 10:00 PM. In case of traffic accidents, drivers could call 199 to be directed to the nearest office. This is only in accidents without injuries. Through Eid, the Traffic Culture Directorate will organize awareness campaigns to encourage road users to follow traffic rules. He called upon citizens, residents and visitors to follow traffic rules and cooperate with traffic police personnel to ensure smooth traffic flow. He also urged driver to drive slowly in residential areas to protect the safety of pedestrians, especially children. He wished happy Eid to all road users.
