Commander-in-chief attends "Shield of the Nation 7" drill

Manama, Nov. 16 (BNA): Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa attended today part of the "Shield of the Nation 7" drill, which is conducted by the Ministry of Interior and the National Guard in a number of the Kingdom's governorates. The Commander-in-Chief was briefed on the drill's goals, stages and participating units, then he inspected the operations and command and control methods. He affirmed the importance of conducting such important drills, in line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander's directives, in order to train the joint forces and prepare them for joint military action through carrying out coordination, planning and implementation defensive operations as well as evaluating and developing the training standards to upgrade joint combat and administrative capabilities. The Commander-in-Chief hailed the efforts exerted by the BDF affiliates at protecting Bahrain and their dedication in assuming their sacred duties. He confirmed that the BDF is keen on holding such drill, given its key role of evaluating the level of readiness and combat efficiency and coordination of efforts among the participants. The Commander-in-Chief was accompanied by a number of BDF senior officers.
