Commander-in-Chief attends military drill

Manama, Apr. 27 (BNA): Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has today attended part of the command military exercise, being held under the theme "Kingdom's Shield". BDF military units are carrying out the drill, in cooperation with the National Guard and the Interior Ministry. The BDF Commander-in-Chief paid an inspection visit to the sites of the "Kingdom's Shield" exercise, and was briefed on its goals and stages, as well as the units participating in it. The BDF Commander-in-Chief attended the application of some of the drill's parts, which reflected the high level at implementing an existing plan and achieving its goals through cooperation and harmony among the participants. He affirmed that military drills are key indicators that test weapons, units and commands' competence and evaluate officers and participants' level as well as being one of the requirements to enhance the level of combat readiness.He expressed thanks and appreciation for the exerted efforts and outstanding military performance. The BDF Commander-in-Chief pointed out that this drill comes within the framework of joint military cooperation and coordination among the BDF, National Guard and Interior Ministry, underscoring the importance of joint drills at upgrading military competence and combat readiness through the exchange of expertise and field skills, in all areas of combat operations and battlefield logistics. He asserted that the BDF is keen on developing and modernising training approaches, in line with the duties and modern military requirements based on contemporary scientific and military theories. He expressed appreciation for the joint exerted efforts at this drill, which will conclude tomorrow, commending the fruitful cooperation and effective participation of everyone. BDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Dhiab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, Inspector-General Major-General Abdullah Hassan Al Nuaimi, BDF Assistant Chief of Staff for Human Resources Major-General Shaikh Ali bin Rashid Al-Khalifa and other BDF senior officers were present.
