CIS Summit kicks off in Astana

Bishkek, Oct. 14, 2022. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov arrived at the Congress Center of Astana (Kazakhstan) to participate in the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). At the Congress Center, the heads of the CIS states, who arrived at the event, were welcomed by President of KazakhstanKassym-Jomart Tokayev. After the end of the welcoming ceremony and joint photographing, the leaders of the countries moved to the meeting room in a narrow format. During the event, topical issues of interaction within the Commonwealth will be discussed, a number of documents on the development and strengthening of cooperation between the CIS member countries will be considered and adopted. The meeting is expected to make a decision to transfer the chairmanship of the CIS in 2023 to Kyrgyzstan and to hold the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State in Bishkek next year.
