CID director-general receives UNODC delegation

Manama, Feb. 15 (BNA): The Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence director-general received a delegation from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), led by Consultant on Programme Development Marine Mayer. A group of experts specialised in violence targeting minors and women were also present.
The CID director-general briefed the delegation on the juvenile centre, divisions, programmes and services. He also shed light on the work of family guidance centres at police directorates regarding domestic violence. The two sides discussed cooperation and the UNODOC support to train and develop the competence of employees in charge of monitoring and rehabilitating juveniles.
They also discussed UNODOC support to train concerned authorities on the enforcement of the new law. They also explored the possibility of nominating Bahrain as a pioneering country after participating in the world programme titled "Elimination of Violence against Children in the Field of crime prevention and criminal justice".
