Children’s Advil Suspension withdrawn

Manama, Feb. 17 (BNA): The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) has withdrawn Advil Suspension of batch J89260, featuring expiry date 31/10/2016, from outlets in Bahrain at the demand of the manufacturing company Pfizer. NHRA officials received a correspondence from the manufacturing company which said that it had decided to withdraw from shelves, stop dispensing or selling the children’s medication Advil suspension 100mg/ 5ml due to non-compliance with the dosage standards. A manufacturing defect an active ingredient, Ibuprofen, which is used as a painkiller, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic may pose a health risk, the company said.
