Chamber of Commerce Holds Meeting with London Financial Advisory Delegation

Doha, February 28 (QNA) - A meeting was held here today between Qatar's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICC), and the financial advisory delegation to the City of London. Qatar Chamber was represented in the meeting by HE the ICC chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani and a number of Qatari businessmen, while the visiting delegation was headed by Lord Mayor of the financial district of the City of London Alderman Roger Gifford. ICC Chairman welcomed the visiting delegation and briefed them on the promising investment field in Qatar, particularly the services sector. Lord Mayor of the financial district of the City of London said that the visit aims to support the Qatari-UK economic cooperation in all fields, especially with respect to the oil and gas as well as the finance sectors. He pointed to his country's experience in the field of sports events, and the potential to benefit the Qatari side with respect to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. London constitutes a financial center for the Islamic banking and Islamic insurance as well as asset management, he said. (QNA)
